Irene Makin

British author. Born in 1917. Not a prolific writer, only wrote four books as far as I know, a short pony series set in the New Forest and two other children's books, one about a wild cat set in Scotland. The pony books are nicely illustrated by two excellent illustrators and are charming stories. It is a shame Ms. Makin did not write more.

Collectors Info:
Ponies in the Attic is easy to find in its paperback form, although the first edition is much harder to get hold of. Ponies in Peril not was not reprinted in paperback and thus is harder to find. They are usually fairly reasonably priced. The books were also published in Germany and are easy to find there.
